Abstract:
The present-day correlation of black hole mass with host galaxy properties suggests a close link between black hole growth and galaxy evolution. To investigate the black hole-galaxy coevolution, reliable black hole mass measurements are required.
I will present the recent mass measurements based on the reverberation mapping technique from the Lick AGN Monitoring Project, and compare the black hole mass-stellar velocity dispersion relations of AGN and non-AGN galaxies in the present-day universe. Then, I will discuss cosmic evolution of black holes and galaxies out to z~1-2, based on the single-epoch black hole mass estimates from our long-term projects using the Keck spectroscopy and the HST imaging analysis.
