Relativistic three-body problem in numerical relativity and PN
Title: Relativistic three-body problem in numerical relativity and PN
Time: 2:00pm, 28th Sep. (Friday)
Location: Middle conference room, 3nd floor
Speaker: Dr. Pablo Galaviz, Monash University, Australia
Abstract:
In this talk, I will present numerical result related to the three-body problem in general relativity. Particularly, I will show results of post-Newtonian simulations of hierarchical three-compact object configurations and full numerical relativistic simulations. Using post-Newtonian methods it is possible to characterise the waveform and investigate the stability and chaos properties of the system. By using numerical relativity it is possible to simulate multiple black hole mergers. Both methods are complementary in the study of the three-body problem in general relativity.
