Star formation and quasar feedback on galactic scales
Title: Star formation and quasar feedback on galactic scales
Speaker: Guilin Liu (USTC)
Time: 3 pm, June 14 (Thursday)
Location: Lecture Hall, 3rd floor
Abstract:
How star formation is triggered and/or quenched is a key question in galaxy formation models. We aim to understand the star formation process and AGN feedback on galactic scales. After probing the relationship between the interstellar medium and star formation on galactic scales in several aspects, I will present our work on directly mapping quasar feedback on large (galactic) scales, and compare IFU observations to the results indirectly derived from the absorption line analysis. We will also revisit the spatial locations of broad absorption line quasar outflows, a long-standing question currently still under debate.
